A short documentary by award-winning filmmaker, Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Patriots Day, Lone Survivor).
On the Line portrays the real-time efforts behind Ford and the United Auto Workers Union’s race to produce life-saving equipment during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the Line was released following the completion of Ford’s 50,000-strong ventilator project and the company’s announcement that it will produce and donate 100 million masks to at-risk communities across the U.S. through 2021.
Working with the Ford Fund, the company will identify donation recipients through a network of nonprofit, state and local partners, focusing on military veterans, Black communities, schools, and food banks.
On the Line became the prompt for an Aspen Institute-hosted panel on pivots in American Manufacturing during the pandemic, moderated by the Financial Times’ Gillian Tett, and featuring Ford CEO, Jim Hackett, UAW President Rory Gamble, and filmmaker Peter Berg.
